The heated swimming pool was completely refurbished in 2022, The new pictures are below. This included a new liner, new copings and surrounding area, all HSG non slip, new pumps and filtration. We have recently introduced two robots to the pool, one guest will see and one they may not. The first is a pool monitor that floats in the pool constantly updating us as to the condition of the pool, and letting us know what if any interventions are needed. Please leave this in the pool whilst swimming. The second is called Ivor, he comes out in the evening and cleans the pool before being put back to bed to recharge. Lastly for 2026 we will be installing an outside shower near the pool in early August, which we ask guests to use before swimming.
On the 1st March 2025 we opened the swimming pool to enable cold water swimming. We will heat the pool when the air temperature and conditions allow. It is not an unwillingness on our part. When considering booking please check whether the pool is being heated outside of the main season.
From the Easter Holiday in 2025 until the end of October Half-Term 2025 we will be heating the pool, however weather conditions will determine what temperature the pool can be heated to. Our guests are welcome to use the outdoor heated swimming pool, which has stunning views over the valley and is situated in our private well-tended garden. The pool is available to cottage guests for exclusive sessions in allocated slots. All the cottages have exclusive use sessions between 9 and 6. The slots are varied so that all sessions are shared equally between the cottages. There are no extra charges for using the pool.
The swimming pool is heated by our biomass boiler, which is very efficient.
Some Rules to Observe:
- Pool garden only open 9 am – 6pm
- Please only enter the pool garden at your designated times, timetable is provided upon booking
- To avoid damage to the pool liner please shower first and remove all make up and sunscreen. Failure to do so neutralises the chemical balance and makes the water cloudy which takes a while to remedy
- No diving or jumping in the pool as it has a maximum depth of 1.5 m
- No running around the pool
- Please replace pool cover after use to retain warmth
- Please leave the pool monitor in place whilst swimming
- No guest dogs in the pool garden
- No glass or food of any kind in the pool garden
- No children under 18 without adult supervision
