Higher Wiscombe is located right at very centre of The East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The landscape is characterised by intimate wooded combes, vast areas of heathland, fertile river valleys and breathtaking cliffs or hilltops. We are within walking distance of the East Devon Way, a forty-mile inland walking route from Exmouth to Lyme Regis, taking in the heaths, pebblebeds, valleys and woodland.
It also includes the East Devon section of the Jurassic Coast – England’s first natural World Heritage Site – and is a living, working landscape shaped by many centuries of farming activity.
We are Ambassadors for the AONB and are happy to answer any questions that you may have, or to point you in the right direction to get the very best from your stay here.
