Doggy Things To Do

There are several beaches that are dog friendly all year round. Seaton, Sidmouth east beach, Exmouth Beach and Shelley Beach, Exmouth.
There are fantastic walks with the South West Coast path and East Devon Way can be accessed from Higher Wiscombe. We also supply a book entitled Circular Walks in East Devon, as well as the Doggy Devon guide to all things good to do with dogs in the county.

Sambatis café in Sidmouth and Otterton Mill are dog friendly. Most pubs allow dogs in the bar area. Two of our favourites are The Holt and The Railway in Honiton.

Many of Devon’s visitor attractions welcome dogs on leads, including Escot and the Donkey Sanctuary, and you can even take your furry friend on a boat trip with Stuart Line Cruises or tram ride with Seaton Tramway! Dogs are welcome to run free at Yearlstone Vineyard and alongside the easily accessible flat paths beside the Tiverton Canal.

The Heart of Devon has plenty of wide open space for your dog to enjoy. Fantastic Devon dog walks where dogs can run freely without the worry of traffic include the well-marked trails at Haldon Forest Park, the East Devon Commons, and the many miles of open wilderness at Dartmoor National Park.

There are also plenty of nature reserves, valley parks and walking routes for you and your dog to enjoy, such as the South West Coast Path and East Devon Way, which links up footpaths, bridleways and stretches of country lanes.
