This is the "Tourism Oscar" the highest accolade in British tourism. In order to win this award you must first win your regional Gold Award and are then pitted against the Nation's best. This was a fantastic reward for the the four years of non stop hard work and a real bonus in terms of marketing and prestige. |

We were upgraded to Gold by GTBS in the same week that we won the national award for Self Catering, proof if it were needed that you can combine the very best holiday with a sustainable business principle.

Overall Winner Environmental Award 2007/8
From the four sectional winners one is selected as the Overall Winner. We were delighted to be awarded this and it was partly in recognition for helping other businesses go for a more sustainable approach.

For the second year running we were finalists in this section. This year we won the Sustainable Tourism Section. The Awards were announced at the Met Office in Exeter on the 22nd November

Awards 2007/8 - Regional Finalist
Higher Wiscombe made the regional final of this prestigious award in the CLA's centenary year. This award particularly recognises the quality and sustainability of the conversions.

| World Responsible Tourism Day 14 Nov 2007
On this day we asked our guests staying to take an action that takes into account the impact that their holiday is having on the environment. For example, leave the car and walk to Blackberry Camp a historic hill fort about 1.5 miles away.
